Services included an initial assessment of past and present City efforts including General Plan policies, listing of historic properties, zoning rules, and design review procedures. Work began with a City Council study session which lead to internal procedural activities and a possible Citywide historic preservation review ordinance. EBA assisted with a City-created working group and attended on-going meetings. The Firm provides technical expertise on an on-call basis and prepares working documents for consideration.
EBA’s role is continuing to help the City find the balance between protecting and identifying historic properties of significance and providing the community with efficient quality services. EBA is also working with the local historical society to assist in updating prior survey work and has provided the City and the community with resources and has identified funding opportunities for preservation efforts.
