Photographer/Videographer

Description:

Evan Brooks Associates, Inc. has one (1) part-time opening for a photographer/videographer to be a part of our extremely active Pasadena-based transportation planning, municipal planning, and grant writing firm.  Under the general direction of the principal or president, the photographer/videographer will:

 

        • Travel to and capture high-quality pictures and videos in different areas throughout California 
        • Capture high-quality photographs and videos for a variety of projects and uses, such as grant applications, transportation plans, and marketing documents
        • Operate drone to capture aerial images and footage that showcase our clients’ projects
        • Review and select the best photographs, and compile into files/documents
        • Use photo manipulation and video editing software such as Adobe Suite to get desired results 
        • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and software and use them to enhance our capabilities.

The ideal candidate will:

        • Have own equipment, including drone, and form of transportation to travel to project locations throughout California 
        • Be open to flexible working hours and display a passion for both photographic and video content, while maintaining a positive attitude
        • Patience and ability to stand and move around for long periods in order to capture the perfect image
        • Possess good communication skills and be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and adaptable 

 Desired qualifications:

        • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in art or photography 
        • Experience as a street photographer and/or drone operator
        • Appropriate state and federal license(s) to operate drone demonstrating that you understand FAA regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones
        • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position

Illustrator/Graphic Designer 

Description:

Evan Brooks Associates, Inc. has one (1) part-time/on-call opening for an illustrator/graphic designer to be a part of our extremely active Pasadena-based transportation planning, municipal planning, and grant writing firm.  Under the general direction of the principal, president, or marketing director, the illustrator/graphic designer will:

 

        • Develop visual materials; such as brochures, postcards, infographics, illustrations, maps, concept plans, photosimulations, and layouts for planning projects, grant applications, and marketing documents

        • Create illustrations and graphics that effectively communicate complex planning concepts and data in a visually compelling manner, ensuring clarity and accuracy

        • Collaborate with our team to create online and print materials that promote our services and projects

        • Design marketing templates and assist in refining our brand identity and visual standards to maintain consistency across all materials and platforms

The ideal candidate will:

        • Have own equipment, including computer and software 
        • Thrive in a multi-functional role with varying design tasks, from creating hand-drawn sketches to manipulating photos (e.g., before/after)
        • Be open to flexible working hours and display a passion for illustration/graphic design, while maintaining a positive attitude
        • Have excellent time management and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with a lot (or little) direction 

 Desired qualifications:

        • Have or be working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in art, graphic design, marketing, or business

        • Excel using Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat), Microsoft programs (Word and Excel), and preferably other graphic design software (e.g., SketchUp/3ds Max)

        • Strong command/mastery of the English language (grammar and spelling) Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position
